NILD’s database management system was built to provide users with an integrated application which
managed their data for therapists, donors, inquirers, and board members. The system helped them to transition
from a complex Access database, which they used to manually manage data using a clunky interface to a user friendly
sophisticated system which employed the latest technology.
The application was comprehensive and allowed users who were delegated as Administrators to perform functions such as adding,
editing and deleting of therapist, donor, inquirer and board member. A super administrator controlled user and school administration.
Users can be delegated with read, write and admin functionalities.
Users search for of therapists, donors, inquirers and board members based on a list of search criteria.
Users can also generate customized reports which they can export into Excel.
Additionally separate portals were created for donor management, member’s login and an Ecommerce portal for membership purchase.
Project Challenges:
- Import of existing data from a single table flat database to a structured database which was also normalized.
- Enforcement of stringent rules to maintain integrity of data.
- Maintaining the security of the customer’s sensitive data.
- Using AJAX loading dropdown boxes for search criteria.
